Media Students bring fluid acrylic to this class. Click here for information about recommended supplies. (Note: just fluid acrylics are required, with the one exception of the white listed here.) For the first class bring 3 prestretched canvases 16 x 12 or larger, or 3 quarter sheets (11 x 15) of watercolour paper taped to board or prestretched onto board. Additional supplies for this course include: a small bottle of acrylic matte medium, a spray bottle for water, and one tube of heavy bodied white acrylic paint, (in addition to white gesso or fluid acrylic white).
Level Beginners and intermediate painters
Details This class will encourage a freer approach to handling fluid acrylic paints. Bring lots of photo references, any subject, to work from. Also bring your sense of adventure!

Details The focus will be on individual flowers. After week 1 when we will work through one of Cheryl's paintings 12" x 12", students are allowed to bring in as large a canvas or watercolour paper as you would like to work on. Please note: if your canvas is larger than 2 ft. x 2 ft., you should be prepared to also bring in a standing easel.

Beginning Drawing for Adults - Part 1 & Part 2

The following classes will be held at Westmount Branch Library. No art experience is necessary - this course is for absolute beginners!

Length 4 Wednesdays, from 1-3:30 pm

Media Bring a 4B pencil and lots of paper to the first class. (The back of used computer paper is fine.) A short list of additional supplies will be given out at the first class.

Details Part 1: dynamic lines, lighting, shading, gesture drawing and negative space. Part 2: blind contour, cropping, value studies, and landscape principles.
