Art Show Update

The “Cheryl O & Students Art Show” opening was super! The place was a-buzz with people all enjoying the art. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on. Congratulations to MaryAnn Kristoff who won the draw for a $50. gift card from Mercury Art Store. And congratulations to each participating student – your paintings look amazing! If you didn’t make it on Saturday, the show will be up at Westmount Branch Library in London until June 30, during regular library hours. Don’t forget to sign the guest book and tell us which is your favourite painting if you come by.

Art Contest

Did you know that every month someone wins a coupon for 40% off of any “For Sale” painting on Cheryl O’s website? You simply have to guess the  artist and title of the famous painting that is featured. A small snippet from the paintings shows on the homepage of my website – cherylo.ca  – right column, scroll down, and then fill out the brief form there to enter. The current contest ends May 31st – Good luck!

Emerging

I’ve always thought it an odd phrase – “Emerging Artist.” It brings to mind B rated horror movies with some creature rising out of the mud and struggling onto land. And how do you know when you are fully emerged? It’s not when people can see your toes. That would be summer when we switch to wearing sandals. What do you think?

Aeolian Hall Art Show

I am pleased to have some of my paintings featured as part of a group show at the Aeolian Hall in London, Ontario. The show is there until June 2nd – why not take in a concert and enjoy the art too? About the opening – I am teaching that night, but will try to get there near the end of the opening.

Shine On!

“Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.” – Oscar Wilde – I spend a lot of time encouraging people in their creativity. I love this aspect of my work! Sometime though, it’s good to stop and say, I hope your life is also subject to your wonderful creative spirit. I hope those who are close to you are blessed by who you are, as well as by what you create. Shine on!
